Hi, I’m Alexis...

...and I founded Crews Strategic Advisory because I’ve witnessed firsthand the profound consequences of misinformed decisions at the intersection of technology and democracy. These are not abstract issues. They are the forces actively reshaping our institutions, our public discourse, and the balance of power itself. My “why” is to ensure that leaders have the insight, context, and strategic guidance necessary to navigate these critical intersections responsibly and effectively.

With over a decade of experience spanning U.S. politics, foreign policy, and technology governance, I bring a rare cross-sector perspective to questions of power, risk, and institutional resilience. That breadth is essential for helping technology companies, governments, and civil society leaders respond to a world in which regulation, information, and emerging technologies increasingly shape geopolitical outcomes.

This work also shapes my public voice. In my recent TEDxBerlin Women talk, I explore how democratic norms erode, how information has become a terrain of conflict, and why truth must be able to scale in an age defined by technological concentration and strategic distortion.

Crews Strategic Advisory is more than a consultancy; it is a strategic partner to organizations navigating complexity at the highest levels. We work with technology platforms, political entities and organizations, and governments and regulators to build resilience, strengthen decision-making, and prepare for the challenges that will define the next era of technology and democracy. Our focus is not only on mitigating risk, but on helping partners act with clarity, credibility, and foresight in a rapidly changing world.

Meet Alexis Crews, Founder and CEO of Crews Strategic Advisory

In 2024, I engaged with a lot of people blaming technology for the erosion of democracies. But it’s not that simple—AI and social media platforms didn’t create mistrust in our institutions, people did. The best way to avoid a grim future is to actively guide ourselves toward a better one. Technology can absolutely be used for good, as long as we commit to advancing it within clear international norms. We can get back to a shared source of truth and stop feeding into misinformation and disinformation by focusing on education, campaigns, and the right safeguards. It’s on us to address crises and emerging risks now—building the necessary controls before the after-action reports tell us exactly where we went wrong.
